You can explore a city in another country and experience different cultures and languages, but you don’t need to leave the UK in order to have a great time in the city. With that in mind, here are some tips to help you to plan your next city break.

Villa's Vs Hotels when Travelling with Children

Finding a holiday that suits the entire family can be stressful, especially if you have young children or children of varying ages. Gone is the couples holiday where you were either looking for adventure or relaxation, now there are a whole host of factors to consider. One big factor is where you, as a family will rest your heads. One of the most common dilemmas for families is whether to opt for a hotel close to amenities or  a spacious villa. Both come with pros and cons. Today I thought I would explore those so it makes your life a little easier if you're in this dilemma.

Would you go on holiday without the kids?

When my husband and I  got married back in 2014 we had this dilemma. Should we take our daughter, who was then two, away with us on honeymoon? When we were thinking about it, we asked our friends and family and thoughts were definitely mixed. Some said that it wouldn't really be a break, a time to appreciate the new married life. We went back and forth but decided that we just had to share this experience with her. It was our best decision ever, we had a beautiful honeymoon in St. Ives and we're looking forward to heading back there one day with Henry in tow too.

Holiday Habits

Amist this amazing heat wave we're currently having and the fact I'm still at work, to say I'm day dreaming of a holiday is an understatement. I often find myself daydreaming of  a holiday and remenicing over past ones, the fact that we're not going away this summer isn't helping matters either! Auto Europe recently got in contact asking if I would like to share my holiday habits after they compiled some research on British travellers holiday habits - which came out with some surprising and sometimes amusing results.

Packing Tips for a Family Villa Holiday

Villa Holidays are becoming a more popular choice amongst families. Having your own space, meal times (no rush to get down in time for breakfast), and often your own pool really appeals to parents. Whilst we have stayed in hotels with the children before, a cottage or villa would always be my number one choice.

So if you're thinking of having a villa holiday, what should you be packing?

Flying with Babies, Toddlers and Children

Flying with children whether they're weeks old or five years old may seem like a daunting task. Will  the baby settle or will he scream down the plane? Will my toddler throw a temper tantrum? Will me and the hubby make it to our destination with hair still on our heads?! I know these are all things I have worried about in the past and the truth is it is a risk that you take, BUT there are so many things that you can do to prepare yourself to ensure minimal stress.

Family Friendly Holiday Destinations

Family Friendly Holiday Planning – Dreamy Destinations at Home and Away
Planning holidays when you have children can be a somewhat arduous task – especially when you’re in search of something a little extra special! Deciding whether to brave a trip abroad for the first time with young children is a big move, so for some a staycation is the preferable option and can save you no end of money on flight costs and new passports. Luckily, there are plenty of child-friendly places across the globe that offer a great balance of luxury for parents and things to see and do for your kiddos. Although we’re not quite ready to brave a trip away with baby number two on the way just yet, here are some simply stunning locations to inspire your summer holiday plans.
France
France is absolutely perfect for a first time family holiday abroad, and whether you’re in search of a weekend city break, a rustic country getaway or a week spent relaxing on a beach, France certainly has it all. Choose the part of France you visit carefully, as some of the southern regions could prove to be a little too hot if you’re travelling with youngsters who don’t react well to the heat.

There are plenty of things to keep both you and your children happy, from delicious local delicacies, historical market towns, the gorgeous region of the Dordogne and of course, France is home to every child’s dream holiday destination; Disneyland Paris!

Cornwall
If you don’t feel quite ready to brave jetting off to warmer climates quite yet, then Cornwall is a dreamy location and a wonderful choice for a family staycation. This area of the UK is quite simply stunning and is a gorgeous place for your kiddos to explore and get closer to nature. If you do opt to stay in the UK for your holiday, you have the added advantage of saving money on flights and updating expired passports which means a little extra allowance to spend on somewhere special to stay.

Whether you choose to explore The Lizard and Kynance Cove, test your balancing skills on a surfboard, visit the otter sanctuary or enjoy a swim in the Bude Sea Pool, there is a myriad of activities to keep you busy. Don’t forget to treat yourself plenty of Cornish pasties and cream teas!

Italy
If you and yours are food lovers, then there really is no place quite like Italy to enjoy delicious freshly made, local cuisine! This country is packed full of culture, history and freshly prepared pizza and local wines to sample, not to mention exciting places to explore. Italy boasts golden sandy beaches, inspiring countryside and an abundance of Roman historical sites to visit, so there really is something to suit every taste.

The bustling capital city of Rome has a plethora of landmarks that you simply must-see, and Pompeii and Herculaneum are truly incredible if you’re a history geek! Italy can get rather hot at times, so it’s worth doing a little research before you jet off to this beautiful country.

Do you have any holiday's lined up this year?
