With the summer holidays in full swing, we're doing our best to ensure the kids are not only entertained but that we also create some special family memories. While I've spent some days up to my elbows in cuddly toys, picking playdough out of the carpet, and trying to resist saying "no" over and over again, we've had some lovely days out and have more planned on the calendar.

Beach Days | Lowestoft

The summer holidays are in full swing and whilst I have had my moments of head in hands (why do they have to argue over everything?), we have already had some lovely days out and made lots of memories. The beach is a destination that has proven very popular, mainly because the kids absolutely love it and keeps them entertained all day but also because it brings me such a huge sense of calm and fun all rolled into one.

Travel Plans for 2019

Happy new year! I'm so thankful for 2019 to finally be here, I'm glad to have said goodbye to 2018 and I'm completely focused on making 2019 the best year yet for my family. I have been working hard to make our goals a reality for 2019 and this includes a few travel plans.

Although nothing is yet set in stone, we have two potential trips on the cards. One for just me and my husband and another (pretty big trip) family holiday. As always, it boils down to funds but we're hoping we can make it work.

Make the Most of a Child Free Weekend in London

I adore my children and I'm so happy that I know get six blissful weeks off with them, however, I value my time with my husband also and I'm not ashamed to admit that I love to have a little bit of time away from the children and to have time just as a couple. It's healthy, needed and benefits everyone. I'm very lucky that my children will quite happily spend time with grandparents whilst we get a little R&R time.

One city that I just can't get enough of is our very own capital, London. Every time we visit we manage to find more things to fall in love with and each visit feels like we find new favourite spots. Our fourth wedding anniversary is a matter of days away and whilst we won't be visiting London in the next few weeks due to other holidays, we are looking at booking a weekend later on in the year.

Villa's Vs Hotels when Travelling with Children

Finding a holiday that suits the entire family can be stressful, especially if you have young children or children of varying ages. Gone is the couples holiday where you were either looking for adventure or relaxation, now there are a whole host of factors to consider. One big factor is where you, as a family will rest your heads. One of the most common dilemmas for families is whether to opt for a hotel close to amenities or  a spacious villa. Both come with pros and cons. Today I thought I would explore those so it makes your life a little easier if you're in this dilemma.

Snow Days

It's the 2nd March and we're currently on snow day day 4. We haven't seen snow like this in years and quite frankly I'm a little bit blown away by the amount we've had and the disruptions caused. It's safe to say the UK really isn't geared up for snow! Having said that, I have seen so incredible examples of community spirit, those with 4x4's offering to do food shop runs, collect medication, take vulnerable people to medical appointments. Farmers pulling vehicles out and clearing roads, it's been pretty incredible to witness.

Amsterdam Adventures

This time last week we were on our mini cruise to Amsterdam and even though we only had six hours actually in Amsterdam, I can't put into words just how lovely our break was. Though, of course, I will try to do my best.

Over Christmas, after a somewhat trying time, we decided we needed to get away. Whilst browsing Groupon we spotted a mini cruise with DFDS for a two nights for £69! We thought at that price we have nothing to lose and determined to get on top of our finances we thought this would be the perfect budget break. The cruise was departing from Newcastle, so we decided to book for an overnight stay and make the most of our time there.
