After all, a decluttered home is a comfortable and relaxing one, but without the attic actually being in use in some way or another, you can be run out of the house with everything you need to sort out. As such, if you’re stuck for ideas of what to do next, here are three things you should consider after conducting a proper attic clearout.

Now the attic has been cleared, the best thing to do next is decide what you want to do with it. How do you want to use the space? Is it simply a matter of clearing out everything you really don’t need and then using the storage more effectively? Or do you really want to try and convert here?
That’ll all depend on the space you’ve been left with. How big is the attic? It’ll be hard to squeeze another room up there if there’s little headroom and you always have to slouch to get around! That could mean you need the roof replacing or extending as well, and that’s a costly operation for any budget.

Get That Old Furniture Seen to
Old furniture can be worth a lot of money - even if it’s in poor condition, is thready, moth eaten, and even covered in mold. All you need to do right now is contact a furniture repair company, see what they think of your items (and send pictures for a proper approval), and then take them along to be fixed up.
Once they’ve been repaired and properly maintained, you can either sell them on, donate them to charity, or even use them in your own home. If you have a rare vintage ottoman leftover from your grandmother’s estate, and you’ve been looking for something to go in the hallway, this could match the best of both worlds together!
This is also your chance to check how well insulated your house is. The roof and the attic are the first lines of defense against the weather outside, as both sun and rain are going to beat down from the top of your house. If there are gaps and holes in these defenses, you’ll want to know about them ASAP.
Without some insight into how well this level of insulation is holding up, you’ll never be able to comfortably and confidently heat your home. You need to know there’s no issues present and that you’re not just wasting money when you turn the heat, or even the AC, on to work.
If you’ve just cleared out the attic, take this opportunity to get a few big jobs done.
