The main benefit of building your home should be fairly obvious. With this choice, you are going to theoretically be able to build the dream home. We say theoretically because there are going to be barriers in place. For instance, you need to consider planning. Before you even start to build you will need to make sure that you have the right planning permission in place. For instance, new homes use less energy because they have fantastic insulation. They also tend to be an open plan which is on-trend in the interior design world and fits the modern image that buyers currently love.
New homes can be expensive and they will mean that you’ll need a larger deposit. However, you’ll be investing in something that is a completely fresh product. That means that you don’t have to worry about any problems with wiring or plumbing. Assuming the property was built by a trusted and reputable builder, it’s all going to work smoothly.

Alternatively, if you make the right choice, you can save a lot of money with a purchase like this. You will be able to make sure that you get the home you want for a lot less than you might imagine.
The trick here is to make sure that you are comfortable with DIY work. Otherwise, you will find your bank balance is drained by hiring all the different expert contractors needed. By the time you’re finished, you might end up paying more than you would for a typical new build.
That said, a fixer-upper will often have a lot of potential. You just need to be willing to put the work in and have a clear view of what you want to create.
