One city that I just can't get enough of is our very own capital, London. Every time we visit we manage to find more things to fall in love with and each visit feels like we find new favourite spots. Our fourth wedding anniversary is a matter of days away and whilst we won't be visiting London in the next few weeks due to other holidays, we are looking at booking a weekend later on in the year.
Places to Stay
We've been looking at the gorgeous Fraser Suites Queensgate, in Kensington - a perfect central location with Knightsbridge district, Harrods, Harvey Nichols and plenty of museums close by. These serviced apartments really appeal as they're perfect for couples seeking a weekend away in the city. They come fully equipped with a modern kitchen, comfortable furnishings and much more, whilst holding such a great location, it just seems the perfect option for us.
Places to Eat
Eating is always on my agenda, perhaps that's why I haven't reached my target weight yet! There are so many foodie spots that I'm dying to try out, here are just a few;
Mac Factory - Camden Market. Whilst Camden is a renowned foodie spot, the Mac Factory has been on my to-do list since I saw it on social media a year ago. Gooey, cheesy goodness whilst you stroll around the market.... Yes, please!
Twilight Soho Food Tour - Soho. This evening food tour takes you away from the tourist traps to the local cocktail bars and delicious restaurants that are Soho's best-kept secrets. You try everything from Spanish Jamón to Chinese dumplings while sipping on a frozen margarita, the perfect Gin & Tonic, plus much more. This is something that is high up there on the list for me!
Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Ivy - Nikki at Yorkshire Wanders recently wrote about her experience and I have to say I love having afternoon tea and at The Ivy looks pretty incredible. The perfect spot to unwind after a busy morning exploring the capital.
Borough Market - A foodie hotspot, it's got to make the list, right? Whatever you're looking for foodwise, you're bound to find it here.

Places to Visit
As an art teacher, Galleries are always on my list, whether I'm with the kids or childfree - I love to wander an immerse myself in beautiful and interesting pieces. With the children, it's always a little more stressful. You can't read or look without worrying about the whereabouts of your little ones. I love to open them up to art and they really enjoy going to galleries but to be able to do so in a slightly more relaxed setting is a must from time to time. The National Portrait Gallery is one I haven't been to yet, so I must tick that off my to-do list soon!The theatre has to be done when you visit London, there are so, so, so many to choose from and I have seen some incredible shows over the years. I currently want to see William Shakespeare's King Lear with Ian McKellen - he is an actor who is just insanely wonderful and I would love the opportunity to see him in this iconic play.
As a blogger I love to take so many photos, for memories but also to build up a little stash that I can use on social media and future posts, Jodie at Maidenhead Mum has done just this, exploring the graffiti walls of Shoreditch - it will definitely brighten up your Insta feed.
So now I know what I what to do, all that's left is to book! I would love to hear what you love to do in the city on a child-free visit. I'm sure we can squeeze more into our long weekend.
