Henry's First Birthday Prep

With one month to go till Henry's first birthday, the birthday prep is well underway. We've purchased most of his presents and it's just the finer details we've got to put together. I think we will take him to the zoo the weekend after his birthday, his actual birthday falls on a Thursday and  I will be working and his sister at school. So a trip to the zoo would be the perfect way to celebrate as a family. On the day I would like to have a little afternoon tea party where his grandparents can come visit too.


For this little afternoon tea party, I think I'm going to do a little themed table. Foxes. I recently had a birthday crown and bib made for him from Teddy Bobbins, I loved the fox print and this is where the idea stemmed from. Their prints are gorgeous, I couldn't resist purchasing him an extra bib and beautiful wooden teether for his birthday too. I can see me making a few future purchases too!

I'm planning on doing my own cake smash photos hoot, I never did one with Darcie but they look like so much fun! I think I'm going to do it in the next couple of weeks so we can then use the pictures on his birthday. Plus that gives me time to do another if it goes horribly wrong!

As I said, we've purchased most of his presents now.  We decided to buy him a Vtech Toot Toot set because he seemingly loves cars. I know its a bit of a cliche that boy's like cars (he's also quite happy playing with Barbie's it appears!), but he is always drawn to the car's Darcie has, so it will be nice to have some of his own. We also have a wooden emergency services set on it's way that I think he's going to love too. As well as loving cars, he loves music and dancing, so I thought the Dance & Move Beat Bo would be perfect for him. I have seen it's one quite a few awards, so I'm sure he will love it.

Darcie is also very keen to be involved in his birthday, and is incredibly excited that her little brother is turning one. She has gone out and got him a little gift and wants to paint him a few pictures. I love that she wants to do something special for him.
