My little dude is three months old today. Three months! As I say every month, as do all parents, doesn't time fly? The wait for their arrival seems like the longest nine months, but once they're here time seems to go at double speed.
Henry is definitely coming into his own, his character resembles his Dad, cool, calm, and collected. He loves spending time on his play mat and is getting to grips (quite literally!) with reaching out for toys and holding them. I think he is going to love Christmas more than I originally thought, all that wrapping paper will be right up his street!
He seem's to be having a rough patch with his sleeping, but it does coincide with a leap he is currently going through. Last night he was much more settled and he has started going to bed at the same time as his sister, instead of going to bed when we do. It's been quite nice to have our evenings back, though I'm constantly checking his monitor and sneaking in to give him a kiss!
He is still being breastfed and I'm so god damn proud of myself! I think I will do a whole separate post on this because it has been such a lovely experience and one that I really want to continue with. My Health Visitor was so happy for me as she knew of my difficulties I had with Darcie, it just goes to show that with every baby you can have a completely different breastfeeding experience - so don't give up hope if you're hoping to breastfeed.
It seems, like his sister, that we have a little chatter box on our hands. He is constantly cooing and making the most beautiful noises. I love to sit and have a natter with him. His sister is always asking me to translate too which is rather sweet.
Last week he had his 12 week check with our Health Visitor and he weighed 14lb 5oz and was 69cm long. He is measuring rather tall, just like his Dad. They're going to be/are two peas in a pod! He is wearing his 3-6 months clothes, though I don't think it will be long before he is in 6-9 months. I'm hoping Santa has got that memo!!
I'm feeling so thankful that we have a chilled out little dude, our lifestyle can be quite hectic and our routines change frequently due to Jamie's work. Luckily he isn't bothered and like us, goes with the flow.
I think next month he will have changed even more, I had forgotten just how quickly this stage goes. If you have a newborn, treasure every moment. It goes too quickly.
Love You little man.
